Located in Denver, Colorado, the Black United Fund of Colorado is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization, and an affiliate of the National Black United Fund.
Our Mission:
The mission of the Black United Fund of Colorado is to improve the quality of life for African Americans in Colorado, by providing financial and technical resources to eligible nonprofit organizations in Colorado committed to health and human services, arts, culture, economic development, and education.
Our Primary Objectives:
- To instill within the African American community the operating units to encourage self-help, self-sufficiency, and voluntary civic participation.
- To provide technical assistance to community based projects and programs fostering and encouraging economic development and entrepreneurship and self-help.
- To provide seed money and initial support to pilot projects and programs, which operate to improve the quality of life, and address the human needs of disadvantaged persons.
- Partnering Agencies will be able to make a difference in the lives of people throughout the community, by giving you, the donor, more choice in workplace giving campaigns.
- To work with and monitor agencies designated to provide services to the community through government.
Our Goals:
- To serve as a conduit through which corporate support to community-based organizations and special projects can be channeled.
- To ensure the survival and development of the African American community, its people, and its institutions.
